Overview

As a Solution Manager you focus on solving customer problems, pain points and market needs. Solutions are created by combining products, reusable items, engineering services and may 3rd party offerings. Solutions should always include delivery as well as long term maintenance and support. Regardless of the customer or the solution, solutions will always be guided by reusability. While we always strive to satisfy our customer requirements, Solution Managers first reaction to customer requests will always be to start with the assets we have. If our current portfolio doesn’t fully meet the customers requirements, Solution Managers will work to help the customer understand that speed of delivery, price and bespoke offerings do not always go hand in hand. 

Furthermore the Solution manager is responsible for the profitability of our Offerings and works closely with R&D and Commercial organization to forecast and manage the Revenue and cost budget and ensures the overall profitability. 

The Solution manager uses market intelligence and market data to permanently review the market fit of our offerings and use it to define our future solution offerings and make clear decisions where to invest further.  

It is also in the responsibility of the Solution manager to evaluate new business models to adapt to market changes and to increase the overall market acceptance of a Solution. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Continuously explores markets and users, gathering qualitative and quantitative insights about market dynamics, competitor and user preferences.
  • Engages directly with customers throughout the product life cycle to ensure that the customer’s needs are built into product strategy from the start and remain reflected in released solutions as the customer’s needs change over time.
  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives and goals.
  • Act as the liaison between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring that all parties (incl. Sales, Marketing, RTEs, System Architects, etc. have a shared understanding of the product vision, priorities, and progress. Make timely and informed decisions, resolving conflicts when necessary. Provide guidance to the development team on questions related to the product.
  • Foster collaboration among business and technical stakeholders to plan and prioritize features for the upcoming Program Increment.
  • Create, manage and prioritize the team backlog, a dynamic and ordered list of Features, , enhancements Enablers, and user stories non-functional requirements that represent the work to be done. Regularly refine and adjust the backlog based on feedback and changing priorities.
  • Ensure the success of solution delivery Meet the business goals by actively maintaining alignment between the business and development as priorities and scope inevitably change.
  • Optimizing the operational value stream (e.g. enabling sales with target customer lists, marketing with USPs and Go to market activities).
  • Own the business case, maintain the roadmap, and long-term growth objectives.
  • Support the delivery of revenue through business model thinking (including services and product), and by establishing productivity and cost efficiencies targets.
