Your responsibilities

  • You need to define and maintain an automotive grade Linux kernel
  • You discuss and implement Linux kernel requirements related to automotive applications
  • You design and develop tests and test strategies to ensure high long-term quality
  • You perform problem analysis and resolution in areas of the Linux kernel and the bootloader, e.g. GRUB2, U-Boot)
  • You interface with hardware vendor partners to resolve kernel and device driver issues
  • You execute updates and patches for kernel drivers and subsystems

Your profile

  • You hold a University degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automotive engineering or similar
  • You have deep knowledge of programming language, especially embedded C, C++, Assembler (focus on ARM and Intel x86)
  • You have good experience in scripting languages used for test automation, e.g. Perl and Python
  • You have deep knowledge of at least one major kernel subsystem, e.g. scheduling, memory management, file system core, device driver core
  • You are very experienced in safety and security aspects of the Linux kernel
  • You have knowledge about embedded system architectures
  • You have good knowledge of Yocto Linux
  • You are experienced in open source community principles, with focus on Linux kernel development models and practices
  • You have knowledge of embedded operating principles, tools and development environments
  • You have good knowledge in subversion and Git source control systems and the GNU development toolchain
  • You have good knowledge of Linux debugging tools
  • You have an autonomous and self-reliant way of working
  • You are a good team player
  • You enjoy working in an international environment across different locations
  • You are willing to travel occasionally for personal meetings with various stakeholders
  • You are customer oriented
  • You have good skills in German and English language
