Your responsibilities

  • design, integrate, operate and further develop a globally distributed virtualization infrastructure based on VMware vSphere 6.x/7.x
  • configure and maintain the virtualization infrastructure and infrastructure it is based on providing optimal availability, performance and best practices, i.e. ESX, DRS, HA, vSwitches, management of datastores using vSAN, iSCSI, FiberChannel, etc.
  • evaluate traces and log files for error and performance analysis as well as technical support in escalation management and monitoring
  • design, integrate, operate and further develop a virtual desktop infrastructure based on Citrix XenDesktop including enrollment of the virtual desktops to the users
  • do requirements management and documentation for virtualization and VDI solutions
  • plan and implement automation procedures in the various areas of responsibility and ensure security and compliance requirements, i.e. utilize VMware PowerCLI and further technologies for scripting/automation of tasks
  • lead/coordinate cooperation with corporate information security in implementing security adjustments regarding virtualization and VDI to keep or achieve compliance
  • support technical projects and handle tickets in Incident, Change and Problem Management in 2nd & 3rd Level Support

Your profile

  • Degree in computer science, comparable subject area or adequate work experience
  • At least five years VMware enterprise level experience
  • VMware trainings and certification VCP and/or VCAP
  • Solid experience in Citrix XenDesktop VDI solutions, proven by certification CCA
  • Experience configuring and managing Microsoft Windows, Active Directory and Remote Desktop Services
  • Experience in scripting languages of advantage (Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, …)
  • Experience in security standards (i.e. ISO27001, BSI, PCI DSS, TISAX or similar) and knowledge in IT security technologies and products supporting those
  • Understanding of asymmetric encryption and computer certificates
  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced and growing environment, while using sound judgment to resolve complex issues and challenges
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Service orientation, enjoy working with developer teams
  • Enjoying the development of strategic concepts for an innovative infrastructure and effective support processes
  • Distinctive communication and collaboration skills for an international, multicultural team
  • Good English skills
