Your responsibilities

The Human Resources Generalist works as part of our global team to provide daily on-site HR support to employees and managers in our Farmington Hills, MI office and works closely with our US Head of HR.  The HR Generalist contributes to our company’s success by providing a range of HR support, primarily focused on recruitment, training coordination and new hire onboarding, as well as benefits and data administration and reporting.  The individual will be a highly approachable, collaborative team player with excellent communication and organization skills.

The HR Generalist will be the first point of contact for our employees in the Farmington Hills office for all day-to-day HR-related items. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Posting positions, screening and interviewing candidates and supporting hiring decisions.
  • Actively recruiting candidates through numerous avenues.
  • Regional coordinator for our Applicant Tracking System including providing training to managers on using the ATS and ensuring data integrity within the tool.
  • Track recruiting activities and provide candidate status in the New Hire Spreadsheet that is maintained so accurate planning can be made for new hires and departures.
  • Coordinate and attend job fairs at local universities and serve as liaison between universities and EB.
  • Ensure all job descriptions are on file and up to date, working with managers as needed to develop/update job descriptions.
  • Coordinate intern program for Farmington Hills location.
  • Track US employee referral program.
  • Prepares and analyzes recruiting/hiring metrics.
  • Main point of contact for training coordination in all US office locations and liaison with Germany HQ office.
  • Administer learning and development online training tool and train team members as necessary on using the tool.
  • Provide monthly reports on training completion to HR and management.                        
Benefits and Data Administration and Reporting
  • Answer employee questions related to benefits, 401K, policies and procedures related to gym reimbursement, travel policy, tuition assistance program, car policy, employee handbook, time off, forms, leaves of absence, process benefit change forms, etc.
  • Administer FMLA leaves and compliance.
  • Coordinate EEO-1 compliance.
  • Complete data updates into HRIS systems related to employees and contractors; run reports and ensure data is accurate; assist with month-end closing activities related to HR data.
New Hire Onboarding
  • Facilitates new hire orientation ensuring a positive experience.
  • Assist with the development of onboarding training plans for new hires.
  • Process new hire paperwork during the first week of employment.
  • Enters new employee data into all HR systems ensuring records are accurate and entries are made in a timely manner.
  • Manages the I-9 process for new hires ensuring proper documentation is received and filed per requirements.
Immigration and Visa Processing
  • Coordinate tasks and paperwork required to process working visa for foreign nationals.
  • Point of contact with immigration lawyers.
Employee Relations/Programs
  • Coordinate company’s charitable donation program and service anniversaries.
  • Coordinate employee team building events in partnership with administrative staff.
  • Schedule and conduct exit interviews, and prepares and analyzes exit interview data.
  • Prepares, analyzes data and identifies any patterns from exit interviews.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, organizational development or related discipline
  • 2+ years' experience in Human Resources, including recruiting, onboarding and employee relations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly proficient in running reports and ensuring data integrity
  • Prior experience working with HRIS systems
  • Prior experience facilitating and leading meetings
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and work well in a global / remote environment
  • Ability to drive and lead tasks to completion
  • Ability to work independently, creatively and be a self-starter
  • Ability to provide input and implement processes when needed
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong organization and planning skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving skills with focus on continuous improvement
