The Head of Product Management is responsible for understanding the market and competitive dynamics. This role functions as leader for the Product Management team – making sure that the company is building, shipping, and supporting the right products. The job holder will lead approx. 35 team members (mainly located in Germany and the US). The job can be exercised from Erlangen or another EB location in Europe or US.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the department Product Management as well as P&L responsibilities for all EB product lines.
  • Overall responsible for the requirements as well as of the strategic impact of EB's products.
  • Accountable for the success and profitability of the products considering the value for the consumer and the company (ROI).
  • Support of the creation of business plans to fulfill defined revenue-, sales-, and profit targets (profitable growth) of the Product Lines.
  • Define the mid to long-term vision and roadmap of the products by having the value for the consumer and the company as well as its role and impact in EB's product portfolio in mind.
  • Responsibility for technical product management (e.g. competitive landscape, innovation, requirements, use scenarios) and product strategy (e.g. market problems and definition, pricing, positioning).
  • Support the delivery of revenue through business model thinking (both in services and product) and by establishing productivity and cost efficiencies targets.
  • Shape the monetization strategy for EB's products based on state-of-the-art license mechanisms.
  • Represent Elektrobit at external events to further develop and maintain strategic partnerships as well as relationships with customers, etc.
  • Support the strategic positioning of Elektrobit with products to ensure the future growth.
  • Monitor, analyze and evaluate market trends, consumer behavior and competitor activities through market research to identify market opportunities.
  • Drive global understanding of product and portfolio performance, inclusive of identification of areas for opportunities and counter measures.
  • Support the creation of an overall portfolio plan in regard to pipeline, customers as well as regions inclusive regional actions.
  • Define Product Management targets and implement relevant measures for a strategic development of EB’s Product Management organization.
  • Make decisions regarding recruiting, staffing and transfer of employees while considering the economic situation.

Your profile

  • Degree in an engineering or business administration field or a comparable subject.
  • Several years of relevant experience as executive or director in the software industry (in product management, strategy, engineering, or business development) and up-to-date knowledge about automotive relevant software technologies.
  • Proven and strong know-how in product management of software products.
  • Strong leadership skills as well as the capability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Deep strategic and analytical thinking about business, products, and market trends.
  • Pronounced customer and market orientation.
  • Working knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to communicate the distinct aspects of products as well as the ability to successfully position them against competitors.
  • Passion for working in a highly dynamic and multicultural environment with an agile culture and the willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
  • Strong intercultural and communication skills.
  • First-rate verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
  • Automotive background would be a plus.
