Today we know that Functional Safety is an important prerequisite on the way to reach mobility causing zero fatalities. The software complexity of modern cars is steadily increasing. Safety relevant processes, methods and tools need to keep this pace according to and ahead of relevant standards. Many questions about what a future Functional Safety Concept must achieve, have not yet been answered.

Your responsibilities

  • You ensure the application of the existing standards around ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 in our current projects.
  • If necessary, you apply related standards like ISO 21448.
  • You apply and improve company standards and best practices of the Safety relevant processes.
  • You are responsible for continuously improving your Safety competency by participating in relevant trainings and certifications.
  • In acquisition phases of new projects, you ensure that Safety requirements are considered in risk assessments and effort estimations.
  • Additionally, you participate in internal and external working groups on Functional Safety.

Your profile

  • You hold a university degree in computer science or a similar field.
  • You are very experienced in the application of Functional Safety in relevant branches like avionics, medical, rail, … - automotive software background is a plus.
  • You have good knowledge of the relevant standards, methods, and tools, e. g. FTA, FMEA or STPA.
  • You have profound software know-how, e. g. in the areas of Requirements Management, Architecture or Test and Validation.
  • Ideally, you have successfully designed and rolled out Safety concepts on architectural level.
  • Ideally, your experience is proven by standard certificates, e.g. Certified Functional Safety Assessor.
  • You can communicate effectively with all stakeholders ranging from experts at customers to key contacts in EB development teams.
  • You have a strong and a strong customer orientation and bring in willingness to travel.
  • Your profile is completed by excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally – German is a plus.
