Then we’d love to hear from you! We are looking for a new Bachelor / Master Thesis (m/f/d) - AI in an Automotive Human Machine Interface (HMI).

What you do

In both traditionally driven and autonomous vehicles, the dashboard screen or human machine interface (HMI) is becoming increasingly crucial. It serves as a key point of interaction between the driver / user and the car. The recent leaps in the performance and quality of AI systems are opening new and exciting opportunities in HMI development. This thesis aims to explore how AI can be integrated into the HMI to enhance the user´s experience, making it as comfortable and intuitive as possible. Key focus areas include:
  • Using the multi-modal data from deferent sensors in the car interior to better understand the user´s state, mood and intentions.
  • Using large language models to make the operation of the human machine interface (HMI) more hands free and intuitive.
  • Using AI systems to better process and communicate the information about the world outside the vehicle to the user.

What you bring

  • You pursue an academic or technical degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • You possess an outstanding knowledge in software design, and data structures.
  • You have experience with autonomous driving topics or robotics systems.
  • You successfully communicate in English or German.
  • Preferably you already have experience with Python or AL / ML.
